All hats are made to order, handmade by me per your specifications. Once I receive your order submission, I will reach out promptly to discuss further plans and details. Simply fill out the hat submission form the best you can.

1. I need to know who I’m working with, firstly. Type in your first and last name so I know what to call you.

2. Hat Size - This is an important one, too. If you don’t already know it, the best way to get it is to measure the circumference of your head by using a tailor’s measuring tape. Simply measure your head from the middle of your forehead about an inch above your eyebrows (or where you prefer your hat to sit). I prefer that you record that number in centimeters, as it’ll help me be the most precise.

In studio consultations, I will personally get your head size and shape. Unfortunately, I cannot if you live in another region.

3. Choose your felt - What do you want your hat to be made out of? I use two different felt qualities which have two different price points: Rabbit and Coypu. If you’d like to learn more about why I use Coypu as my premium quality, click here. I can also discuss with you further the pros and cons of each during our chats.

4. Choose a Color - I have access to a lot of unique colors of Coypu. If you’d like to look through them, click here.

5. Brim Size - Some like them wider and some like them shorter. It's really your own preference.  If you’re uncertain, I can make recommendations on what length may frame your face the best depending on what style of hat you want.

6. Other Specifications - It's possible that you already have a clear idea of what you want and that's great! This may include trim colors (ribbons, leathers, etc.) or distressing and specializations.  This is the field where you can write in whatever your vision may be!

7. Finally, include your email so we can start a dialogue.  Whenever the form is submitted, I receive an email with all the necessary information and will reach out at my earliest convenience regarding your hat. Payment will be taken when we have a solid jumping off point.

Hillenbrand Hat Co. is not financially responsible for any damages to hats while in transit. Custom hats are non-refundable. If the custom hat is not to your liking, or does not fit properly, you can return the hat and I will work on it further to your satisfaction.
