Making something out of nothing has always appealed to Jacob. An Indiana native, Jacob Hillenbrand moved to Nashville in 2011 with the objective to be a musician. Artistic expression being the center-point, Hillenbrand kept searching for something he could get his hands on that would allow him to use the same passion for songwriting and use it to create something more tangible. A song you can hold in your hands. Eventually he found bespoke hat making and realized it was like writing a song. A song you can wear with pride.

Every stitch, a note.
Every crease, a melody.

And just like finishing a song, finishing a hat gave him the satisfaction of inventing something brand new. Something that never existed before; in it’s own uniqueness. 

So, since 2018 Jacob and Hillenbrand Hat Co. have been helping people write their own song and tell their own stories. He hopes he can continue to inspire people to embrace their personalities, their experiences and their individuality, and channel them into extensions of themselves.
